Community Liaison Officer for Airport Duties: A Bridge Between Airport Operations and the Community
A Community Liaison Officer (CLO) for airport duties plays a crucial role in fostering positive relationships between the airport and the surrounding community. They act as a bridge, communicating concerns, fostering collaboration, and promoting understanding between various stakeholders.
Here's a breakdown of the key responsibilities and skills associated with this role.
What do we expect you to do?
- community outreach & engagement
- build and maintain relationships with local residents, businesses, community groups, and government agencies
- organize and participate in community events, forums, and meetings
- proactively address community concerns about airport operations, such as noise pollution, traffic congestion, and environmental impact
- disseminate information about airport activities and projects to the community
- develop and implement communication strategies to address community concerns and maintain a positive image of the airport
- manage media inquiries and respond to public complaints.
- advocate for the airport's interests with local and regional authorities
- crisis management & emergency response
- assist during emergencies and crisis situations by communicating with stakeholders and providing support to the community
- ensure effective communication and collaboration between the airport and community during disruptions
- stay informed about relevant policies and regulations regarding community engagement and airport operations
- ensure the airport's adherence to these policies and regulations

- knowledge of EBRD Environmental and Social Policy and IFC Performance Standards
