The position will report to Finance Director Kazakhstan and will be located in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Overall Mission
- Provide the Finance Director with timely and quality information about any aspect/question that is within the scope of the R&C department responsibility, ensuring contribution to effective decision-making.
- Lead the financial reporting and controlling functions, assuming final full responsibility for the department scope of work.
- Drive and lead the innovations in the R&C department, including digitalization, result improvement proposals and process effectiveness improvement.
Tasks and responsibilities:
Controlling / analysis
- Lead regular analysis of company’s financial data for identifying advantages/disadvantages in performance and working capital setup and propose result improvement measures
- Lead month closing process and analysis
- Lead quarterly forecasting and the annual planning processes
- Lead preparation of Board Quarterly Management Meeting presentations
- Lead regular gross margin analysis, including providing Finance Director effective overview and summary of GM development
- Lead cement KPI reporting
- Serve as a single point for the Finance Director for all R&C actions/questions/challenges for the Finance Director
Reporting
- Lead preparation of monthly IFRS financial reporting package within set deadlines and Group/local regulations, including data entry in the financial reporting system
- Lead and manage various Group reporting requirements, including CFC (control of foreign corporations) reporting, Risk reporting, CIM reporting (legal organizations database), other ad hoc reports as requested by the Group
- Lead interim and yearly financial audit process from the client’s side, including serving as a single point of contact for an external auditor and effectively responding to the challenges/questions from the auditor
- Manage statistical reporting to the State organizations
- Ensure that necessary reporting and compliance requirements are completed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
Innovation
- Initiate, lead and manage digital and other innovations in the R&C department, including process automation, introduction of new tools, process improvement
Staff management
- Lead, develop, motivate and assign subordinated staff to appropriate tasks, ensure efficient delegation and distribution of responsibilities with the department according to the Group Leadership Principles, ensure succession planning in accordance with the Group standards.
Requirements:
Education
- University degree (Master / Specialist) in business administration or economy with focus on finance (Russian, European and/or US universities as an advantage)
- ACCA / CIMA / MBA fully completed or more than half exams passed as an advantage
Professional competence
- At least 6 years of professional financial controlling experience in a mid- or large-size production industry, extractive industry experience highly preferable
- At least 3 years of management position experience with proven track of staff management and project management
- Technical expertise in both financial and management reporting with a solid working knowledge of local and international accounting rules
- IT expertise in BI or similar system with proven record of process automation
- Expertise in SAP-applications would be an advantage
- Managerial experience in Big 4 audit companies would be an advantage
Soft skills
- Excellent analytical skills, including ability to see/consider all significant aspects of a given picture and provide meaningful and to-the-point summary
- High level of IT literacy, ability to initiate and lead (both knowledge- and management-wise) IT automation/improvement processes
- Excellent management skills including implementation and decision making with a clear focus on speed, analytical thinking and quality
- Energetic “hands on” approach with good organization skills and the ability to prioritize
- Structured, organized and target-oriented working style
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work in a multicultural environment
