Background:
DAI has been awarded a contract by USAID to implement the five-year Trade Central Asia activity. The goal of USAID’s Trade Central Asia activity is to improve region-wide trade connectivity and harmonization to accelerate economic growth and increase economic opportunity in Central Asia through harmonization of customs and border procedures; increasing public-private dialogue on cross-border trade and investment; improving cross-border firm-to-firm connectivity; addressing gender-relevant trade issues. The Activity will be implemented in the five Central Asian countries, including Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.
Summary of Primary Duties:
Program Assistant is responsible to ensure the implementation of essential operations and administrative duties across the project.
Responsibilities:
- Assist management, technical staff, operational staff, and STTAs in implementing project activities including preparation and assistance in events, training, workshops, exhibitions, forums, information gathering, and other assigned tasks.
- Manage communication with participants of events, training, workshops, forums, and exhibitions.
- Assist in managing participants’ database and uploading all project/event information to the database.
- Assist management, technical staff, operational staff, and STTAs in the preparation of trip schedules and following up on their logistic arrangements.
- Support the Communications Director with information research, review, and preparation of reports.
- Support the Office manager and Procurement officer in maintaining electronic and hard-copy documentation of all procurements to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Assist in preparing success stories and other materials.
- Manage the day-to-day business operations of the field office.
- Ensure reception coverage during business hours.
- Organize intermittent drivers, as needed, to meet the travel needs of project staff.
- Ensure that project staff's needs for services, office equipment, supplies, and furniture are met (examples: security, cleaning, office supplies, temporary drivers).
- Support the Procurement Officer in maintaining electronic and hard-copy documentation of all procurements to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Identify and reserve appropriate hotel accommodation, and if necessary, arrange transportation for training participants, DAI staff, and other DAI consultants to and from the training venue.
- Other duties as assigned by Finance and Operations Director, Deputy Chief of Party, or Chief of Party.
Qualifications:
- University degree;
- Minimum work experience of three years;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs;
- Proficiency in written and spoken Russian and English required;
- Previous experience with USAID projects is desired but not mandatory.
Reporting:
The Program Assistant reports to the Deputy Chief of Party.
